Long Windedness

mutantvehicle_concept_art_copy
A rather poor sketch of some of the elements the IPB may feature.
I pulled this section from my main web site: it chronicled primary construction from May through August, 2007.

interstellarThe best part of the project is the decorative aspects.

Remote Drive-By-Wire
8/2/2007 11:23 AM
control_system-1_4This is maybe the coolest part of the project (technically speaking). An appropriated NES Advantage controller is used to control electrical components attached to the steering and braking mechanisms such that the barge can be piloted from the observation deck.

Minneapolis Art Car Parade

The Minneapolis Art Car Parade is coming up (Saturday, July 21). I have every intention of running the Interstellar Pleasure Barge in it.

The Observation Deck
6/14/2007 8:07 PM
new_stairs-1The major structural component is the observation deck.

The Van
6/8/2007 12:11 AM
new_cargo_van_4After considering my mutantvehicle requirements I decided that a big cargo van would be the ideal base: it's relatively inexpensive, designed to hold a ton of weight (actually, several tons), easy to modify and will also make a perfectly good road trip vehicle once it's time to drive to Nevada.

Dailies?
Final Day
Yesterday was supposed to be the final day of work on the IPB (and the new dome) but since it rained all day I decided to allow today to be the last day of work. All I plan on doing today is to finish the accent painting along the sides and front and to, perhaps, rebuild the aft end panels. If I end up with a couple free hours I may cobble together a shitty shade structure. In any case; when it gets dark I'll have to call it complete for tomorrow we pack it up and start the long drive.
