Serious Set Back This weekend's and the continuing rain has dealt me a serious blow. Not only was I not able to do any significant work this weekend but all of the unpainted (and much of the painted) hardboard panels have become warped and damaged. I was not expecting this much wetness when I was deciding on construction materials. I'm not sure what to do, now. The weather forecast is showing rain for today and tomorrow; possibly clearing up a bit for the rest of the week. Not only does it have to not be raining for me to make any progress it also has to be mostly dry. I can't paint wet hardboard.
I think the best outcome at this point is the same compromise I made in
'05: finish basic construction, cheat the things that aren't done and
completely fore-go getting a night license. IF I manage to finish basic
construction by Wednesday night I won't have nearly enough time to
design, construct and wire the lighting system.
The worst case outcome is that it continues to rain and I can't finish construction. If that happens I'll have an extra last-minute Burning Man ticket to sell and I'll spend the next week looking for a new place to live/work (because I have completely had it which this location: I could deal with this climate of "spend nine months of the year indoors" if and only if I have a large, enclosed workshop).
